Dr. C. Keith Harrison is founder and director of the Paul Robeson
Research Center for Academic and Athletic Prowess. Dr. Harrison is a former football player that earned
scholar athlete honors at West Texas A & M University. Dr. Harrison
earned his doctorate in higher and post-secondary education at USC,
and continues to teach and research intercollegiate athletics.
Dr. Harrison recently accepted a position as the Associate Professor of
Sport Management in the College of Business Administration and is the
Associate Director of the Institute of Diversity and Ethics in Sports
at the University of Central Florida in Orlando. Dr. Harrison
has held faculty
positions at Washington State University, the
University of Michigan and Arizona State University. Dr. Harrison created the term
Scholar-Baller in 1995.

Jean Boyd, M.A.

Jean Boyd co-founded Scholar Baller™ with Dr. Harrison and Cliff Parks.
Although Mr. Boyd is currently in the prestigious role of Associate
Athletic Director for Student-Athlete Development, he continues to
work on a daily basis with football student-athletes to help them
develop critical academic and life skills. Mr. Boyd has personal
experience as a student-athlete at a Div I college, and spent time in
the NFL and NFL Europe. He is currently Associate Athletic Director
for Student-Athlete Development.

Cliff Parks, M.S., PPS

Psychology
La Verne University: M.S. Counseling
Cliff Parks earned his B.A. in Psychology for Louisiana Tech
University while participating as a standout receiver on the football
team. He continued his educational endeavors completing his M.S., PPS
degree and certificate in 2003 at La Verne University in Counseling.
Mr. Parks is special projects counselor for the Long Beach Unified
School District and is an expert in urban education and athletic
identity issues that most impact inner-city youth.

EDDIE COMEAUX

Dr. Comeaux received his Ph.D. from UCLA. His research interests
include the sociology of education, critical race theory, race/ethnic,
gender, and class relations with an emphasis on the educational access
and retention of underrepresented minorities and college student
athletes. Dr. Comeaux has published in academic journals and presented
in a variety of national forums. Prior to pursuing his Doctorate
degree, Comeaux was drafted in the 1994 amateur free draft by the
Texas Rangers baseball organization. He spent four year playing
professionally.
DAVE HEIKKINEN
DIRECTOR OF IMAGE, INCENTIVES AND MOTIVATIONAL

Dave joined the Scholar-Baller team as part of efforts with his
decorated apparel business in SE Michigan called Heikk's, which
is where is came to work closely with Dr. Harrison in 2003.
Prior to establishing his own business, Dave spent 13 years in various
roles with IBM Robotics and another ten years as Vice President of
Sankyo Robotics USA. Dave is the elder of the team and brings
not only his technical background but also excellent experience in
corporate and international business. Dave is presently working
on his Masters in Apparel Design and Merchandising at Eastern Michigan
University. Dave obtained his undergrad degree at the University
of Michigan where he also ran cross country and track.
